Where to buy a trombone online?

We are still on holiday and have received notifications of the auditions for Dd2s youth Orchestra and have realised that she doesn't actually have an instrument as she had to hand her hire one back at the end of Y6.
Can anyone recommend an online instruments shop? Delivery before Monday would be a bonus!

Omega music

Ackerman music

Both should come up with a google

(I haven't bought a trombone from either but they are both very good generally)

Thanks for that. Will look at both sites.

Get a pbone!

www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=pbone&tag=googhydr-21&index=aps&hvadid=28753866488&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17174069519007977936&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&hvdev=t&ref=pd_sl_69mpra6he5_e

They are a good basic instrument.

Otherwise you would be um... A bit bonkers unless your child had tried various models etc. DS ( brass player) says you are looking at £1000 min fir a post grade 5 instrument.

Or borrow one from the teacher ( even the teacher who taught DC at primary would help I'm sure)

I was coming here to say what Theas18 said - I heard about them on the radio one morning when Chris Evans had his unprepared interview spot and spoke to someone from some national trombone association.

Loads of colours, and you could have it Saturday if it's primable!

If it were me I'd look at hiring one in the short term (try the local music shop if you're lucky enough to have one or the county music service). We are looking to buy a trombone this year and I wouldn't buy one without him trying a few. If you take your time and go through the assisted instrument purchase scheme you save the VAT.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to try and talk to the music service/ teacher and see what they recommend.
A P-bone looks great, and nice and light for lugging to school, but it'll be no good if the teacher doesn't like it!

Update for anyone who is interested or who may be looking for a student trombone.
We bought this one last week, it was delivered the next day and sounds really good.

I'm glad that you got sorted out, I hope the audition goes well.

Go direct to John Packer website for brass instruments in general. Good range from student to pro and often sell 'display' or ex rentals for much less money than new.
