Dd is nearly 9 and writes some fabulous stories . She's always writing in notebooks and when she writes in school she is often sent to the head with her story . So I was thinking maybe entering her into competitions . I wouldn't even know where to start to find them . We are in the west of Scotland .

Yes. He won. It was great. Boosted his self confidence no end.

Just Google children's writing competitions.

DD has entered a local Rotary writing competition a couple of times via school and done very well. Last year as she was a finalist she got to go and have tea at the House of Commons!

We're not in Scotland though, so I'm not sure that's much help to you.

Wicked Young Writers Competition is a great one; it's national and based in London (it's the initiative of the musical 'Wicked'). Judged by Michael Morpurgo. I was down to the final 20 in the 18-25 category last year, it's a great experience. Just google Wicked Young Writers.
