in our area it's

£54/term for 20 minute group lessons
£154/term for 20 minute individual lessons
free place if on Free School Meals
£54/term for individual lesson for children with certain special needs.

I'd be really grateful if people could say what their school/LEA/music hub charges and ideally what area they are in. Thanks!

DD plays violin and DS2 plays trumpet. Lessons for both through school are £35 per term. DD is taught in a small group but I think DS2 is taught on his own as there are no others at his level. Presumably he gets less time than DD.

DS1 has private piano lessons which cost £9 for 30 mins.

£67 for 10x30 minutes lesson in group of 3

Next term we are hopefully having an individual lesson....£180 for 10x30 minutes

Don't forget that if you have lessons through county music service in schools the poor music teacher doesn't get all that money...music service takes a nice big chunk. Dh ditched all music service teaching and went to independent schools for better rate of pay!

Interesting I pay about £5.50 per week plus instrument hire from la run music hub. I work in this area so interesting to see national comparisons.

The lessons are free but we have to pay for the hire of the instrument.
