So, I've bought ds a cricket bat - the bloke in the shop said it didn't need oiling and just needed to be 'knocked in for about 2 hours' (FFS). We have done that. But, it's covered in a sort of tough, stick-on paper, wood-coloured. I wondered if you're supposed to peel it off, but it's very thick and I thought you were supposed to leave it on to protect the bat? Anyway, now it's all peeling off and the boys at school say ds has got a 'fake' bat. It looks awful, after only a few games. It's a Kookaburra make, about £30. Have I bought something totally useless and 'fake'? Does anyone know what to do about this paper?? Sorry if it seems a daft question ...
