A question for all parents of young Suzuki violinists

Hello dd 4 is in her second term of Suzuki violin. Her teacher is delighted with her progress. She has been disciplined about daily practice. However next week we are away for the week. Do you bring your child's instrument for them to practice or have a week off if you go away?

I would leave the violin. The question won't arise if it's the piano. Wink No experience with Suzuki, but DSs have music lessons and we've been away for 3 weeks before and they strangely enough improved when they got back. Sometimes you just need to let it "brew".

Someone more learned will come along in a minute to give better advice!

DS (6) has been suzuki'ing for 18 months - sometimes we take it with us, sometimes not. Really depends on a) how easy it is to take it where we're going and b) whether it feels like he could do with a break or not and c) whether there is yet ANOTHER godforsaken concert coming up!

Thanks - I think I will give her a well deserved break then
