DS1 (8) just took part in his first string orchestra concert

and I am so proud of him. He has been learning cello since October and never done anything like this before. There were 250 kids from year 2 to year 13 all playing strings.
He may have been on the eighth desk of the second cellos but he was a star to me. And he came out on such a high and never wants to give up cello!!
This is why I got him playing an ensemble instrument and I am just so glad it and his hard work have paid off!
Sorry just had to get that out there!!!

Ah. I am really pleased for you and of course your dc. I hope he has many happy years of music making in front of him. Oh by the way, proud mums are definitely allowed to cry. Why its almost expected.

My Ds1(8) will soon do the same, first time orchestra(a week ), finished with evening concert. I am looking forward to the moment, whereever he sit ,he will be the shinest star to me.You just remind me, tissue ready...

My son loves nothing more than playing in ensembles, it's so nice to see that team work and everyone being essential!
