Need advice on setting up a Pokemon club

Ds (9, AS) is Pokemon-obsessed and considers himsef a bit of an expert. He moans that there is no one at school to discuss Pokemon with. He has a limited number of friends and he's in danger of scaring them off . He does have an older child that he plays Pokemon with occasionally, out of school.

We had a chat and came up with the idea of setting up a Pokemon club. I did a quick google and it seems they are quite common in the US. What I'm hoping to hear are tips from anyone who've set up one in their school, eg

• was school agreeable
• how to publicise
• did you run it (I have HL CRB)
• time of day/frequency
• did you charge for expenses
• what sort of things you did
• any pitfalls

It sounds like a great idea to me - my DS would have loved it at the same age.

Are there any other clubs organised by parents in the school - could you ask them if there any 'rules'?

You might also look at what nights other clubs are on so you don't clAsh with the clubs that Pokemon fans might already be doing?

Sounds great idea my ds1 8y would love this as only people he gets to play is dh and a enthusiastic ds2 5y !

Pokemon mad ds(8) would love this too.

Pokemon is popular in his class, but they have problems when trades go wrong and two days later tearful kids change their minds, want to go back on their trades and the cards have changed hands a few times since the original trade.

You will need to make the club rules clear to all. Teacher is at the point of nearly banning them from school which is a shame.
