Grade 5 theory ABRSM how to find a tutor

I live abroad, and desperately want to find a tutor for the summer to help DS to help prepare for this exam; I come back to the UK for two months in the summer, so we have lots of spare time!

We're based in the Wirral, but I don't know any tutors there, and on the internet I've only managed to find young students; I'm looking more for a tutor with years of experience of teaching this. If anyone can help, I'd be very grateful!

All the instrumental teachers listed should be qualified to teach grade 5 theory. May I suggest that you choose someone who can teach your Childs instrument too as it can really help to be coming at it from the same angle

In just two months you might need some intensive teaching and a professional teacher might not be able to fit it in, especially at short notice. They tend to go on holiday themselves once term ends.

A music student home for the summer might be just what is needed in the circumstances and mutually beneficial.

A music student should be spot on for this I think.
Best advice is find the nearest sheet music shop and ask them to recommend local teachers.

ds2 worked independently through gr1-4 Trinity workbooks: very user-friendly and accessible.

Then did AB gr5 workbook; had 2 or 3 composition lessons with teacher, and got a distinction in the gr5 exam.

If he already plays an instrument to a reasonable standard, much of gr5 theory is not difficult.
