My ds has his 1st ever music exam and I'm so nervous, he on the other hand is so calm and rather unconcerned!

Apart from his violin and the pieces he's playing, is there anything else he needs to take along? Does he need to have a chin rest as he prefers it without.

Thanks.

Remember the piano accompaniments too! And a book to read if you have to wait.

Do you mean shoulder rest? Dd did not use one for a couple of years and she was fine though she uses one now. Better to let him play as he is accustomed to rather than changing things for the exam.

I'd take his entry sheet.

Will someone be there to tune his violin?

Remind him to apply rosin and tighten his bow.

Thanks a lot. Oh I didn't know he had to take the piano accompaniment sheet too. Thanks.

I'll tune the violin at the local music shop in the morning.

It's good he doesn't HAVE to use the shoulder rest. I somehow thought it was a must but it's a good thing it's down to preference as he really doesn't like it and he plays well without it.

So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well tomorrow.

Thanks once again.
