Frustrating - DS needs a half size size violin bow, but only for a while

Does anyone know if its possible to hire just a bow? Or to hire the violin too but just by the month? Most of the hairs are gone on his bow and (as I discovered when the same thing happened with his quarter size) it costs almost as much to sort out the bow as the original cost of the violin. I'm not planning on making that mistake again, as DS grew out of the quarter size with its expensive nicely sorted out bow within a few weeks and may well do the same with the half size. Any tips please musical people? He isn't quite ready for a 3/4 size annoyingly...

says their minimum period is one month and I have had good instruments from them in the past. You can buy a decent bow for about £30 though.

Thanks goldtinsel, I'll check them out!

If he is likely to move up to a 3/4 shortly perhaps he could use a 3/4 bow with his 1/2 violin. Ask his teacher.

That's a great idea, thanks Louise
