If so, would you mind if I PMd you for more information?

I don't know anyone at RSAMD Junior academy - but I do know the RSAMD has a very good reputation (I turned down a place there to go to the RNCM in Manchester and always regretted that decision)

Thanks for replying. I think it does still have a good reputation, and it's where DS wants to go when he leaves school. Out of interest, what career did you take up when you left RNCM?

Also, bumping for info about Junior Academy from anyone else.

I used to know someone - but that was a verrrrrry long time ago.

I have been in more recent contact with people that went to RSAMD and most of the other major music colleges. (I went to a specialist music school so most did kind of go off to study music)

It seems to be a 50/50 split now - some are playing professionally - teaching, orchestras, soloists, chamber ensembals. The rest have gone off and had a huge variety of differing careers totally no related to music.

Thanks. That's good to know. As a business studies graduate (a long time ago!) my perception of studying music is that it would be great fun and very fulfilling, but might not necessary lead to a job, but if 50% are working in music, that's pretty good odds.
