Parkrun attempt yesterday with DD who got her first sub 24. Unfortunately noticed the lack of training with my niggle and not too sure I could have gone much faster.

Some extra catch up miles today

Well done to your DD Amaura that’s a fab 5K time.

emummy I know what you mean about a little bit of sun, just makes everything better.

Second 10 mile run of the week In blustery wind and did an unexpected PB. 2 more 10 mile runs to go this week.

Lovely sunny forest run this morning, going out a bit later as it’s uni week. Also excellent new leggings arrived!

Wet run this morning. Was hoping I could do more running this week but don’t think that’s going to happen.
New leggings, exciting emummy In my opinion you can never have too much running gear

Well done to your daughter @Amaura and very cool leggings @emummy

I've squeezed in a wee 5k before the end of October, my fastest one yet! Must be the new shoes (thanks again for all the advice Flowers).

Loving the leggings emummy

Third 10 mile of the week yesterday in windy conditions.

Windy & wet here this morning, got back covered in mud - hard to spot muddy puddles when they’re covered in leaves!
Glad those new shoes are helping pepperminttaste!

Long easy run with Dh along country roads & through muddy woods. Teaching him the art of slowing down to run farther!

Nice legging and well done on the three 10 milers in one week!

Had some hard runs and nice feeling runs, all 10km mind.

Seeing the physio tomorrow to see if I can mix things up a bit. I’m managing 30 miles a week, so happy to keep that but just get a longer run in.

4th 10 miler of the week today! Ridiculous wind but virtual race completed.

Amaura hope it goes well with the physio tomorrow.

Great work Paddington!
Nice steady run this morning, tested the new leggings, very comfy. And the back pocket was big enough for my phone, which was a bonus.

Hello. Please can I pop my head into your thread to ask a question? I want to run 5k a day for 30 days but I am worried it will not be good for jointw going on pavements. Will it be harmful??? I am quite restricted in that I go at night after work so difficult to go and find grassy parks large enough to run in. I want to to do it for charity run hence being quite restrictive about daily for a month. And also so I do not lose interest. Any thoughts? Ideally I would like to be told it will be fine as its only 5k. I have done 3 so far. Thank you!

emummy · 04/11/2020 10:29

Hi Picktionary. I’ve never tried running every day, although I exercise every day.
There is a risk of injury; I guess try to get on any soft surfaces you can, warm up well beforehand, foam roll if you’ve got one. Also I think slow down so that the intensity is less even if you’re still doing more distance. I’m a fan of magnesium to help with muscle aches - either a tablet or spray. And maybe regular warm baths to soak achy muscles?! Good luck!

PaddingtonPaddington · 04/11/2020 20:19

@Picktionary welcome. I did RED (Run Every Day) January earlier this year. 5K was my daily minimum distance over the month and I survived injury free but it was mentally hard dragging myself out in the cold and dark. It depends on your previous level of fitness and running ability. Take it easy would be my advice.

Intervals Monday and Tuesday eve. Having an easier week after last weeks mileage.

Sorry I think I messed up your nunbers thingy!!!! Do you add yours to the previous persons???

emummy · 05/11/2020 08:23

Yes you do. It’s ok, don’t worry! It’s pretty much compulsory for each of us to get the numbers mixed up at some point...

IRun4Me · 05/11/2020 10:59

Hi picktionary I’ve done RED January a couple of times and (fingers crossed) stayed injury free. I didn’t always run 5k every day but averaged that per day over the whole month. Good luck with it.
Nice run this morning in the sunshine. Was chilly but really lovely. Also got a run from the other evening to add
