November total 191.1. (I think)

Well done paddington in coming 3rd in your age group very impressive. I’ve recently moved in to the next age group so hoping I might move up the rankings slightly Grin
Very wet run last night but I enjoyed it - I think more than the dog did.

Thanks for new thread Irun4me

Great ParkRun this morning my fastest run for 6mths I ended up finding my inner racer at the end Grin nearly 🤮😂still 1min off my PB though as I’ve really lost pace since my summer dip/injury. I need to claw it back if I’m going to beat my HM time in Feb.
Ran to-from PR 7k.

First park run in 3 weeks (2 were cancelled due to weather and one I was hungover). Decided to not go for pb as the last 3 months I've been pushing to improve but not enjoying it especially so today I ran with a friend who is slower. My slow run was her pb but she did it and was fine (otherwise I would have slowed more). I enjoyed it!

Slightly scared I've got a 5 mile race next weekend - it's my first with a medal - and a half marathon in the spring. What was I thinking?

emummy · 16/11/2019 14:02

Thanks for the new thread IRun.
Good luck with your race & half marathon training m0therofdragons, you’ll be great! Half marathons are my favourite distance.
RD at Parkrun today & it was a lovely day. Not weather wise, but just a great atmosphere, I really enjoyed myself.

emummy · 17/11/2019 11:59

Lovely sunny run along country roads this morning, few dodgy moments on ice but stayed upright!

Thanks for the new thread @IRun4Me

@m0therofdragons treat a 5 mile race like a park run and just hang on for the last 2 miles. The half marathon will be a good goal and keep your training focused.

Agree @emummy lovely morning for a run today, seems like ages since it’s been good weather. Went out for 10 miles but felt good so carried on.

Damp run today. Wasn’t raining but just that grey winter dampness. Also very muddy and did worry a couple of times I was going to slip over. But was all fun really

Long run Monday for me, the weather was perfect cold and blue sky light wind just a shame my hormones decided to feel shit with massive sore boobs but made myself head out for 2hrs even if I ended up walking. Got 10.5m done so was pleased in the end but it did feel a slog and not at all like the lovely springy run I had last week.

PaddingtonPaddington · 18/11/2019 21:22

@TriSkiRun99 well done. Some runs are a slog and another one seems easy.

Club run tonight but a bit stiff after yesterday so took it easy and treated it as a recovery run despite it being a hill session.

Hormones are a joy aren’t they! Well done for pushing through Tri.
Beautiful but freezing run this afternoon with dog. Lots of hills & some big patches of ice to avoid! Really enjoyed it.

Hi all.

I've only commented once or twice on thread 14 so going to try better on this thread.

Got my first DNF in 7 years on Sunday. It was a trail half marathon (that was really 14 miles). It was wet, muddy and cold. When I fell over in the mud for the first time at mile 3 I knew I didn't want to finish it. I pretty much walked (along with slipping a thousand times) to the checkpoint where I was timed out. I was soooo glad to get there though. Im not upset by this and I never was.

On a more positive note, did my first coaching session tonight. I did my Lirf back in October, but I haven't had chance to take a session until tonight. I could have done better, but you live and learn. I need to learn street names. Its so much easier when you are just following people as you dont need to think where you're going.

Only 46 miles this month for me according to Strava. Soo much less than others of you.

Thanks for the new thread IRun4Me
First run for me in a week and a half (had my eyebrows microbladed so not exercise/sweating allowed) which was great, really enjoyed it even though it was bitterly cold at 5am 🥶

PaddingtonPaddington · 20/11/2019 21:04

@RunningNinja79 glad you got to the checkpoint, 10 more miles once you’re covered in mud can’t be fun.

Managed to squeeze in a lunchtime run today as couldn’t go to my usual evening session as too busy sorting out my children’s social lives!

emummy · 22/11/2019 10:54

My children have amazing social lives! But I am actually getting to go out to dinner with friends tonight, a rare event!
Nice wee run in the rain today. Had poor sleep the last few nights so nearly didn’t go but I am so glad I did. I feel much better for it.

TriSkiRun99 · 22/11/2019 12:09

Another here whose kids have busier social lives than mine! Eldest is out 6n a week... but we usually use that as the “excuse” to go run my DH or I when she’s training or singing Smile I’m on the bench yet again with flipping head cold no3 I think since Sept it’s felt endless with youngest child continually coming home from school with something that 3-4d later I get. I hope by Monday I’ll feel like running again as I’m chasing my 1000km total this year with 90k to go..

IRun4Me · 23/11/2019 08:38

Not that I want anyone else suffering but sometimes it’s reassuring to see we all struggle at times with the various constraints which hinder the running (yes hormones and energy I’m talking about you aswell!!)
Went for a short run yesterday evening and DS came. He said he really enjoyed it and he didn’t moan once Grin

A nice long-ish one for me yesterday, I would have gone a bit further but it started to get dark so cut it short. Happy weekend everyone 😀

Very muddy run this morning with the dog. But something strangely liberating about running through a muddy forest

I agree, I got nicely muddy this mor I f! Mix of country roads & forest trails today, really need to wash my shoes now! The rain held off till the end which was a bonus. Now off to the city with dd2 to get boots & bike lights as she is starting a paper round tomorrow.

Stingynettle · 24/11/2019 23:25

A very muddy 10k for me this morning. My first trail race. Lots of fun but I was definitely put to shame by the mire experienced trail runners on the especially slippy sections.

IRun4Me · 26/11/2019 07:18

Intervals last night. It was hard but I did push myself and it was only the very last rest section where I had to walk instead of slow jog.

Wet & muddy hilly run in the forest with Dh & dog.

Wet 5.5 miles for me last night, the traffic is terrible on an evening, I'm going to stick to my early mornings from now on

Been away a few days so no time to update.

Sunday run felt like a hard slog so cut it a bit shorter. Club sprint relay last night in the rain, another hard slog!
