@emummy lovely mud!
@TriSkiRun99 well done on the longer run.
Short recovery session tonight

Fresh run in the wind and rain this morning, nothing like crap weather to make you pick up your pace!
We forgot to reset the mileage at the start of December so doing that makes this month's total

107.

Feel free to correct me if my maths is out!

PaddingtonPaddington · 11/12/2019 20:34

@emummy well done for spotting we’d changed months!

Hard intervals session tonight but not sure my legs have recovered from my trail half yet.

Nice run in the woods with dog; it was quite chilly but a nice big hill doom warmed us up! Moment of excitement when we ran down a steep hill into a boardwalk which turned out to be icy. Dog went for a slide, I managed to divert onto grass but it was close!

IRun4Me · 13/12/2019 08:21

Thank you emummy for resetting it. With all the Christmas and election talk you thought one of us would have realised earlier Grin Glad you didn’t go flying on the ice.
Very wet run last night. I think one of the wettest I’ve ever done.

Damp drizzly run today, legs felt heavy but we made it. Hoping the rain dies down soon, I am Rd at parkrun tomorrow and we have a couple of bits that get very muddy in the rain!

Brrr a cold dark and wet 5k just now as I was in need of headspace after a day desk bound with work. It was..Refreshing Xmas Grin hopefully ParkRun tomorrow. Legs have been surprisingly ok after Monday’s HM.

Brutal headwind at ParkRun sandwich very exfoliating Grin but fab feeling now after dragging my arse out of bed at 8.30am & zooming down there I’ve earned my bacon sarnie.

IRun4Me · 14/12/2019 11:40

Another very wet run. No bacon sarnie but a doughnut instead

Went out on Friday for a run but ankle not too good so decided not to go past the end of the drive. Tried again Saturday, ankle sore but seemed better after about half a mile. Bracing wind but persevered.

Take care paddington hope the ankle recovers soon.
My DH is entering week4 of this horrid virus and normally runs weekly but done nothing except survive work at present.
A cold run this morning squeezed 4.5m. in before work.

Wee run around town. First part felt ok then my legs just got really heavy and it turned into a bit of a slog. Very glad to get home! Now shower, coffee & hopefully final bit of Xmas shopping

I too had a tired slow run today but got 8.4m done leaving only a 6.5k left to complete my running goal of 1000k this year. Hope to finish it at Xmas ParkRun tomorrow Xmas Smile

TriSkiRun99 · 21/12/2019 10:01

Xmas ParkRun ✅ in perfect weather conditions after some pretty awful weather the last few weeks we were all very lucky and lots of Xmas fancy dress, and hats and halos jogging along, it was a lovely way to clock up my 1000th km this year Xmas Grin as ran to/from the start. Hope others had good Saturday runs too Xmas Smile

I was tailwalking today, lovely weather here too. It was like a fartlek session, accompanied by Ds; jog for a bit, stop & pick up cones, jog again & repeat till end. We won a prize for best fancy dress!

TriSkiRun99 · 21/12/2019 14:29

Well done emummy on tail walking. I had a dilemma today at ParkRun as this lady who I presumed was her mum, shouting really badly at this young girl (her daughter) I’m guessing aged 9-10? Really horrid things she said, as the girl wasn’t running. The woman had lost it, I ran past them mulled over that it wasn’t right so when the women screamed again I walked back and calmly said maybe she needed to cool down abit as it’s meant to be a fun run. I’m crap at confrontation but this just wasn’t fair on this young girl, who’d just had enough at the 3k mark. (She was saying stuff right in her face shouting “you disgust me now run!”
Now I’ve got a child of a similar age so I do sympathise it’s frustrating when you want to run and they stop, but this was just too much. She paused shouting seemed abit shocked I’d said something but waited till I’ll jogged on & heard her having ago again at the girl. Made me feel really uncomfortable. What would you guys have done? Other folk just ran past but it really got to me, probably because no matter how much my kids wind me up I just wouldn’t dream of balling them out like that, poor child Sad I dread to think what happens at home if she’s happy to scream like that in public.

emummy · 21/12/2019 15:08

Well done for stopping to say something; I am also not good at confrontation so I know that would have been hard. I guess you could have spoken to a marshal or the RD at the end. There’s a line between encouraging kids to do something when there just being a bit lazy and forcing them to do something that makes them miserable and it sounds like she crossed it by some way.

PaddingtonPaddington · 21/12/2019 17:19

@emummy well done on the fancy dress. I was going to do Christmas fancy dress this morning at local park run but it was cancelled due to being flooded.
@TriSkiRun99 definitely well done for saying something, the mother sounds a bit bullying and awful for trying to punish the daughter into running. On a positive note congrats on the 1000k total.

Decided a longer run was in order as I actually had time today. Was a bit of a slog but got it done ✅

TriSkiRun99 · 21/12/2019 22:18

Well done paddington great long run. Thanks for the comments, I’d seen the lady having ago at the child from the off as they ran past me several times before the child stopped and just gave up. Poor kid.

emummy · 22/12/2019 09:51

Longest run for a while today, started in the dark then a misty sunrise.

208.7

IRun4Me · 22/12/2019 11:24

Well done TriSkiRun on the 1000km. Very impressive. I’m 7 miles from my 500 mile/800km target so definitely achievable.
I’m also glad you said something. That woman will end up putting the child off not encouraging her.
3 runs this week. All been hard work but got to work off the mince pies somehow.

Hey everyone, I've fallen off the thread for the last couple of weeks, making tonnes of excuses and generally losing my motivation 😔 managed to get out on Friday and today though so hopefully I've broken the cycle of putting things off now. Hope you're all ready for the festivities!

PaddingtonPaddington · 23/12/2019 19:12

@WaitingforToto welcome back, it’s hard to fit in running especially this time of the year.
@IRun4Me good luck with your target. I’m nearly at mine too.
@emummy well done on the longer run.
Just a short run today as all I had time for between other commitments.
