Good luck tomorrow MyBlackCat
Lovely run in the sunshine this morning along quiet country roads with swallows for company - and a very startled pheasant!
1274.81

Deliaskis · 30/08/2015 20:46

Not been on in a few weeks so have 15.5 to log from last two weeks, and then my big yaaaaaay for today is I did my local 10k race this morning and a) finished it, b) didn't come last and c) beat my time from when I practiced the route a few weeks ago.

So another 6.2 is 21.7 from me, making total 1296.51 I think?

Whowouldfardelsbear · 31/08/2015 08:53

3.4 miles today - first non-treadmill run in two weeks, and first ever car-full of teenage boys giving me a tooting serenade.

Was good to be outside again!

1022.26

MadFatRunner · 31/08/2015 12:25

1022.26 + 1.5 (99.9% sure have new stress fracture from dancing at weekend Confused) = 1023.76

KeyserSophie · 31/08/2015 13:57

Well done Delia, cinnamon and neeko and hope it went well Black cat. I thought it was weird to have a race on a Monday but then I remembered you have a BH today.

A nice social 5 miler from me this evening to make 1028.76. Saw 2 porcupines, the first I've ever seen in 6 years in HK, although DH sees them all the time on the route he normally runs.

Got the results from my race. Was 5th in the geriatric category in quite a tight pack (1:57 was the winner, 1:59:26 was me). Outright women's winner was 1:48. Trying not to beat myself up about not pushing harder on the trail section. It's hard when you have no idea where everyone else is, but it's a feature of trail racing and I need to figure out how to make myself max out when I don't know if the next runner is round the corner or 1km in front.

runtothehills · 31/08/2015 14:52

Congratulations on racers from the weekend, Keyser sounds quite a tight result, especially for the "geriatrics" Grin. Sounds like nipping in under the 2 hour mark is an excellent result Wine and you'll tank past them on the trail races!!

emummy when's your HM? it must be soon.

12 to add from Saturday and today. 7 up hill behind house, and 5 mile hill intervals (which I haven't done in ages) today. 1040.76

cinnamongreyhound · 31/08/2015 16:35

We've lost some miles! Was 1296.51 and went down to 1022.26 so I think it should actually be 1318.41

cinnamongreyhound · 31/08/2015 16:36

And well done KeyserSophie, it's always hard not to beat yourself up about something when you've raced but I'm never in contention for anything so probably a bit different.

MyBlackCat · 31/08/2015 17:11

I did my hill race, I wanted to win the first local female but didn't, that person was also first overall female and much quicker than me. It was very wet and muddy and steep in places but I enjoyed running in the rain ????

4.7 from me so 1323.11

lastqueenofscotland · 31/08/2015 17:14

Well done racers!

16 miles from me longest this year 1339.11 glad I finished it but hoping to get back to marathon distance next year and that worried me it really really hurt and the last 4 miles were dreadful. (Though staring and my app waiting for it to clock to the next mile probably didn't help)

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 31/08/2015 17:35

12.65 over 2 runs to add from me. Yesterday was slow because I was running in my local country park on wet slippery grass. Today I ran out to my nearest big hill and ran up and down it a few times. Quite tired by the end. Well done runtothehills or your 5 miles - I only did 2 miles of hills.

lastqueen I feel the same. I was thinking on my way back today about some of the training runs I was doing 2 years ago (running in the rain reminded me of them) and just could not believe that I was doing those distances.

Well done BlackCat and Keyser and Cinners and Neeko and Delia on your races.

Hope it's not a stress fracture MadFat (I don't like calling you that!)

Impressive progress Suzanne and Halle

You must have been looking good fardelsbear Grin

Your run sounds nice emummy. I've only seen magpies the last two days.

I hope that's everyone Smile

familygermsareok · 31/08/2015 17:45

Some great racing going on there, well done everyone Smile.

Oh no, MadFatRunner, hope not, just what you don't need Sad

I have 14.2 to add from three runs, last week and this morning. Getting grumpy without my long runs, cycling is ok, but just not the same!

1339.11 + 14.2 = 1353.31

familygermsareok · 31/08/2015 17:48

Oops, x post. Adding OhOneOhTwo's miles should make

1365.96

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 31/08/2015 17:49

I forgot to add mine

1365.96

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 31/08/2015 17:49

Thanks germs Grin

familygermsareok · 31/08/2015 20:21

No problem Smile

Anglaise1 · 31/08/2015 20:45

A good week-end's racing by everyone, well done! Despite the weather Myblackcat and the mud...but once you are wet and muddy things don't get any worse you just get on with running. I bet the shower was nice after!
Last Queen well done on getting back to the longer distances. You'll be back doing marathon distances before you know it.
((Family)) I hope you get back to running soon. I don't get the same endorphin buzz from cycling, either.
Madfatrunner I hope the stress injury turns out not to be after all.
18 miles from me to finish off August, 10 with the club yesterday and 8 this morning with the dog and the Archer's omnibus.
1383.96

props to all racers and runnersStar
11 miles from me, in the lovely cool rain
1394.96

cinnamongreyhound · 01/09/2015 07:49

I will start off September with a 4 mile run with my friend and doggies. Met where we usually do but I went a different route as it's the first time I've been since I got hit, actually felt pretty anxious driving there and then felt silly! No one hit me and it will only get easier now I guess. 4

No running from me today - I have entered Steptember though so will hopefully try to fit a few more small and long runs in this month! Got a Tough Girl mud run on Saturday morning in the pissing rain to look forward to Grin

Whowouldfardelsbear · 01/09/2015 10:41

Oh - do you have Steptember in the UK? It's where you have to do 10,000 steps everyday in September. On my non-running days i rarely achieve that so I will be doing a few extra treadmill sessions!

emummy · 01/09/2015 11:13

Nice relaxing run with dog to start the week, much nicer than the intervals planned for Thursday!
Whowould between running and dog walking 10000 steps is easy! Looking back over the last week I did between 12000 and 22000 each day, so if we did have Steptember I would be right up there! Don't think we have it though, it sounds like a good idea.

cinnamongreyhound · 01/09/2015 12:04

How do you know how many steps you've done? Sorry if that's a daft question! I often think I should wear my garmin for all my dog walks and school runs to see how far I've walked, do you just figure an average step size and divide the distance or do you have a device to do it?

KeyserSophie · 01/09/2015 13:36

5.4 miles from me makes 12.4. Was supposed to be leading a training session for my company this evening but the thunderstorm warning is up so we cancelled- would put a downer on the corporate bonding to have to resuscitate someone post lightning strike. Just did some flat work instead- divvied it up into 4 x 2km pieces with a 30 second break in between each and averaged 5.4min/km overall so quite happy with that. Off for a big trail recce tomorrow, weather permitting.

emummy · 01/09/2015 15:48

cinnamon there's an app on my phone called Moves which counts everything I do. I don't actually remember getting it but it's quite fun to look at!
