3.3 exploratory holiday miles today with the doggies 918.4

suzannefollowmyvan · 25/08/2015 14:48

11 miles in the rain from me
929.4

have we lost Anglaise? I've not seen her on the thread for some time

emummy · 25/08/2015 15:51

4 miles with the dog this morning, quite pleased as last week's runs all felt sluggish, today felt a lot better.
933.4

runtothehills · 25/08/2015 18:23

Hi, was wondering about Anglaise too. Hope all ok! Seems a bit of a summer lull on the thread?!?

Still on the Lemsips, bit of a stubborn lurgy this one (not helped by the HM on Sunday) but went out for a relaxed 5 miler with a friend this morning.

Do like exploratory runs cinnamon a bit more interesting than the usual plods. Mycat intervals on a treadmill sounds like great dedication hell, don't be disappointed Smile

lastqueenofscotland · 25/08/2015 19:58

7.41 from me. 945.81

phlebasconsidered · 25/08/2015 20:01

10.5 from me plus 5 the other day. I find I am getting into distance now, but it;s finding the time to actually do it that's the problem. I run at 12- 11:45 the first half, 11:30-11:15 the second. But that is a LONG time when you have two kids at home!

I would like to train for a full marathon next year but I really can't see how I'd ever get enough childcare! ( husband is a chef, works ALL the time)

953.9

KeyserSophie · 26/08/2015 06:13

I think Anglaise is in UK on holiday.

10 to add from yesterday's run to make 963.9.

Neeko · 26/08/2015 07:44

6.55 from me this week. 970.45

Must find time to catch up on the thread.

MyBlackCat · 26/08/2015 18:48

5 cross country miles this evening, ran the route of the hill race I am doing on Monday - I'm now dreading Monday Grin

975.45

Anglaise1 · 27/08/2015 10:09

I'm here, not on holiday in UK, (I can't take holidays in the summer because I have guests in the gites to look after). I also have friends out at the moment, my kids are still on school holiday so have been busy.
Still running though, so 115.6 miles to add from last couple of weeks.

My shin splints are loads better after a week of no running. I'm planning to buy new running shoes on Saturday. My last pair are Asics and they have been amazing. Any advice on choosing a new pair? I'm going to go to a running shop in Birmingham which has been recommended by a friend who does ultramarathons, so hopefully they will know what they are doing.

HalleLouja · 27/08/2015 12:49

I haven't added my miles for ages. At least 18.4 to add which makes 1109.45.

suzannefollowmyvan · 27/08/2015 16:00

11 miles in the lovely wind and rain from me :o
1120.45

Fluke if I find an amazing pair of running shoes I'm inclined to stick with emWink
that said if I had a local running shop I would definitely consult them to see what others they recommended.
do let us know how you get on :o

Glad to hear that you've been running Anglaise, I cant imagine you stopping for more than a day or two :)

runtothehills · 27/08/2015 21:31

Quite a nice total to add to the tally Anglaise, see you've been taking it easy since you last posted Wink

8 mile hill reps session, have Ben Nevis hill race a week on Saturday, route is steep and very rocky/scree so was doing lots of practice on similar terrain tonight. So chuffed I managed to get a place (places go within first day of entry) and really looking forward to it Grin

Good luck with you race on Monday myblack

1128.45

emummy · 27/08/2015 22:02

Fartlek session with dog.
Good luck at Ben Nevis, runtothehills, that sounds quite a challenge. Hope it goes well.
1132.65

Purpletoes · 27/08/2015 23:55

5.5 from me today. Jog to and from plus interval training today.
It was a good session to ease me into intervals.

No run tomorrow but will be doing local parkrun on Saturday should be fun as its their 6th anniversary
1138.13

KeyserSophie · 28/08/2015 04:58

Adding 12.5 from last night and this morning to make 1150.63. Lots of climbing (+2000m total), gearing up for the season. First race is on Sunday but it's flatish mixed terrain so will attract those pesky road runners and their speedy legs - bah!

Really excited about the 2 Peaks race in October as loads of trail running slebs will be coming to HK for it as its now part of the Sky Running schedule.

runtothehills · 28/08/2015 07:31

Keyser that sounds great. We've just had an inaugural sky runner event here is Scotland a few guys from our club did it. I would love to do it but it needs a lot more training. 50k and 4250m ascent includes some technical rock-climbing sections, on my to do list Smile

Good luck with Sunday, hope you leave those pesky road runners eating your trail dust Wink

HalleLouja · 28/08/2015 09:26

3.1 miles from club 5k yesterday makes 1153.73.

Anglaise1 · 28/08/2015 09:48

Good luck with your race on Monday myblackcat, I hope the weather isn't as bad as forecast!
Runtothehills congrats on getting a place in the BenNevis race, it sounds very challenging but fun. I'm very jealous of all your mountains, apart from a couple of valleys it is really quite flat around here.
I'm also very envious of my friend who is now 2 hours into the CCC ultra in the Alps (107kms). I did a lot of training with her over the summer and I'm sure she'll do well.
Good luck for Sunday Keyser
Suzanne my coach will be very unimpressed that I haven't had a rest this summer, but most of my running has been quite easy, not too much speedwork.
10 miles with the dog this morning
1163.73

MadFatRunner · 28/08/2015 11:27

humbly contributing 2 miles
1163.73 + 2 = 1165.73

cinnamongreyhound · 28/08/2015 14:07

4.5 miles of a more successful exploratory run, although big doggie wasn't feeling it! 1170.23

emummy · 28/08/2015 14:19

Mixed pace run with dog in the sun. Now to get cake baked for ds's birthday party tomorrow...
1174.6

lastqueenofscotland · 28/08/2015 18:57

Ben Nevis sounds awful hills!! 14.1 treadmill miles to add as away and nowhere to run that isn't off road and crazy steep so being very boring!! 1188.7

suzannefollowmyvan · 28/08/2015 19:39

14 on the treadmillShock

I think you must win the prize for the most treadmill miles in one session Star
