Hello,
I would like some advice, and would be great for any advice whilst I have my appointment at the solicitors please.
I have been told by HMPO that as my birth surname is different to the surname in my European passport record, they cannot issue me a passport in the surname my mother changed in the UK for me, when I was a child. She did this via Deedpoll , as we live in the UK.
I was born in the UK, and in the European country my birth mother is from states that children must have fathers surname if parents are married. The European record and law of that country says that surnames can never ever change, as they do not recognise UK Deedpoll name changes at all in the UK.
I am dual citizen of a European country due to my biological mother, and the UK .
I have been told that I need to get officual proof of their law , and send it to HMPO.
Please advice , whilst I await my solicitors appointment
Thank you in advance
