Dear all,

I hope you are well.

I am in a huge predicament, due to no fault of my own.

Does anyone know how I can get my entire NHS medical records, from my birth until now please?

Any help greatly appreciated.

How old are you ? Generally childhood records are deleted after age 25 although ds birth records were still available by dsar to the hospital.

LIZS,

I am 34 yes old.

I hope some how my gp can find this all out somehow with my national insurance

Have a look at the surgery websites for making a dsar request to gp, dentist, hospitak etc but be prepared for records to not go back before 18. Presumably you have a birth certificate? Can LA confirm you attended schools?

Zssn · 30/12/2023 19:46

LIZS,

Yes I have a UK birth certificate. It has the old style nhs number though with letters and numbers.

I have asked my LA if they can prove some school applications made at that time of 1990s . Just waiting to hear back from them

You just posted the exact same post (“huge predicament” etc) but about wanting your education records … what’s the deal here? 🤔

If you ask your GPs for your childhood vaccination record they might be able to get it from their archives - I had to request mine in my early 20s for travel vaccine reasons and they found it for me.

MuckyPlucky,

Just thought as they are 2 different categories, I had to put them in two different categories. Sorry if I didn't.

Hello all,

Happy new year.

Just received my medical SAR records and history. If anyone is needing to do the same, it records a paper and an electronic trail since ones birth. All 34 years worth in my case .

Did it cost you?

Cotswoldmama · 05/01/2024 20:23

I work in a GP surgery. It's free you fill out a SAR form and I think it's usually done within about a month of the request.

Zssn · 05/01/2024 20:26

Shatandfattered,

It's free.

The secretary at my GP dud it in 48 hours.
I was so thankful , as my educational and employment SAR is taking nearly a month

So pleased you got it and can now show continuous residency in the UK

Zssn · 05/01/2024 20:30

BaronessEllarawrosaurus,

Yes, thank you so much.

As soon as I get 2 more SARs then I will get the ball rolling again.
