I am aghast and devastated by the election result. The decision to elect the corrupt Tories is a terrible stain on our country and a lot of shit will come of it.

Despite that, I fully intend to lol my way through this bloody awful time. Feel free to come in here and be daft and laugh in the face of the Powers That Be and all their hench-goblins

Thanks to ListeningQuietly for posting the Malcolm Tucker compilation on the WM thread - a real shot in the arm and I will be borrowing his magnificent insults freely! Grin

Oh tobee, I hope you're not suggesting that if Boris and Cummings were less physically repulsive it wouldn't be so bad..

The important point is that politics is a nasty little bubble that sucks us in
and stops us doing the good stuff we should concentrate on

People are inherently good
systems are inherently positive
we need to stop giving oxygen to the shits
and look after the interests of our as yet unborn grandchildren

ChrismArseDarkly · 23/12/2019 11:22

People are inherently good...

Most people are inherently good, some people are just reprehensible I'm afraid. Johnson falls into that category, as does Cummings - you could search all day and not find a redeeming feature. One has only love for himself, the other is full of hate and contempt for this country.

And Goblins are bloody awful but also quite pitiful

I've boycotted The Sun for a long time but actually I am finding a new respect and use for them - they certainly don't try to sugar-coat anything here

Brilliant cartoon as well

Anyway, never mind all that, let's all have a drink down our local pub. For local people. Then let's all go outside and celebrate - Brexit is icumen in!!

I'm trying to do all sorts of things - exercise, seeing friends, talking to people, I got signed off work and I asked for counselling. I deleted social media and am restricting myself reading the news. I'm reading books. I'm trying to spend time with my kids who don't understand. I'm trying to eat. I'm not sleeping. I cry a lot. It's shit.

I know 4 doctors who live in my street (we are near a hospital!) and one has been off for 8 months with burnout, the other 6 months twice, the other for a year, and the last has only been a doctor two years and is not continuing with training for his third year, probably moving abroad

Should it be this hard?
