I never give them my number and I've never had any of them calling me or door knocking in the evening either.

noodlenosefraggle · 12/12/2019 18:44

Thanks elfonashelf DH is still canvassing for the LP. Maybe it's because they didnt tick people off the list he doesnt know who voted and who didnt.

fedup21 · 12/12/2019 18:55

The BBC link that @ Wtfdoipick gave says that the exit polls is actual people at the polling station rather than online.

I was asked today. I didn’t think to check who was asking, assumed it was an official exit poll. It was inside the building. I just had to tap a couple of answers on an ipad.

SheOfManyNames · 12/12/2019 19:04

Nope, pretty safe seat.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 12/12/2019 19:06

I'm pretty sure that the official exit poll is still in person, and the online ones are generally from polling/research companies, but I'm not 100%.

I believe they go to the same places and ask every nth person, and then compare to previous performance in that place, to work out what's likely to have changed.

SquirmOfEels · 12/12/2019 19:08

I was asked today, and declined to say

If it was to avoid disturbing me with canvassing this evening, I don't know why they bother. As no party has bothered at any other point in the campaign, I doubt they'll start now

MrsAgassi · 12/12/2019 19:08

I've never been asked but have always lived in areas where the standing MP has a large majority.

I didn't think they were done online either, i thought they did them as people left the polling station.

I've had the local party representatives asking for my voting number numerous times but never been at a polling station where they've been doing an exit poll.

LemonPrism · 12/12/2019 19:09

No, never anyone here

Grasspigeons · 12/12/2019 19:12

They were only asking people in track suits or workwear like flourescent jackets. Thought it was a bit odd.

AlexaShutUp · 12/12/2019 19:12

No, have never been asked. I live in a con/lab marginal.

Bluntness100 · 12/12/2019 19:14

I was asked outside a polling station once, but it was a party representative who wanted to know. I simply told them it was none of their business.

tabulahrasa · 12/12/2019 19:15

I’ve never seen anyone exit polling, YouGov never asks me anything either... I’ve never been canvassed and everyone else gets addressed to them leaflets and I don’t.

Dunno who they all think I’m voting for - but they clearly think I’m a definite for something and not worth asking or trying to persuade me, lol

LividLaughLove · 12/12/2019 19:42

I got exit polled today!

Leaving the polling station. I was third in at 7am and they were asking every third person. Tapped two answers on an iPad.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 12/12/2019 19:48

I didn't get asked today.

RedLipstickHighHeels · 12/12/2019 19:50

No

WTF0ver · 12/12/2019 23:32
