Do you think the EU will punish us as an example to other member states.

Or

Throw a huge party with fireworks and Beethoven’s Ninth.

Allowing not resting,,

Bellasblankexpression · 07/10/2019 07:34

We won’t remain.

Letseatgrandma · 07/10/2019 09:36

We won’t remain

Oh right, well-it must be true then if you’ve said it!

onalongsabbatical · 07/10/2019 12:14

I'm hoping we'll get an extension, Johnson will be taken down by one means or other, and we'll get a ref, which will go solid remain, and the EU will neither despair of us nor celebrate but agree to gracefully draw a line under our national breakdown and work with us for a collective better future for all 28 EU nations, one in which the benefits are better understood and the Daily Mail is consigned to a horrible history.
But then I'm an idealist.

onalongsabbatical · 07/10/2019 16:24

Don't really understand your point mystery. 'Answered by;'. It wasn't a question? Did you ask yourself a question to which my last sentence was an answer, but fail to actually articulate it?

MysteryTripAgain · 07/10/2019 17:28

Polls not the most reliable source, but all show conservatives well ahead. Add their support to Brexit Party in a coalition they will very likely have a big majority.

A big majority for Brexit and Conservative party would see the Benn (White flag surrender all to EU) act overturned. That would allow UK to get a better deal than without no deal being on the table.

Labour are disappearing as they have no Brexit policy as their voters are divided in favour of leave.

LibDem leader Jo Swinson has said publicly that if there was another vote to leave EU she would ignore. How is ignoring a vote democratic?

Parker231 · 07/10/2019 17:35

@onalongsabbatical

I very much hope for your summary - would make me very happy!

onalongsabbatical · 07/10/2019 17:39

Parker231 me too! Smile

Angryresister · 07/10/2019 18:25

But there is no deal better than the one we have. Anything else will be a disaster for the country and the people...bar the hedge funds

Helmetbymidnight · 07/10/2019 18:27

we wont remain.

the damage done over the last few years already is immense. its incredible to witness a country deliberately going downhill. whatever happens next is loss.

fedup21 · 07/10/2019 18:30

I don’t see how we can leave; nobody can agree on how to do it!

Boobiliboobiliboo · 07/10/2019 18:34

If we DID remain, I’d worry more about the disgruntled 17 million than the EU. They might be quite grumbly, or even inclined to riot.

There are at least 34 million that didn’t vote to leave. Why aren’t you worried about them rioting?

Helmetbymidnight · 07/10/2019 18:40

we worry about brexiteers more because so many of them are bewildered psychos. look at tommy tobinson, look at the edl, look at britain first, look at the racists pretending they are yellow jacket revolutionaries.

theyre not reasonable people.

Theworldisfullofgs · 07/10/2019 18:43

If you are worried about the Tommy Robinson lot they'll riot anyway, over anything, including food shortages.
The others.. not so much,

PierreBezukov · 07/10/2019 18:43

We won't remain.

PierreBezukov · 07/10/2019 18:45

And why on earth should we be punished for trying to leave??

It would be an own goal for the EU. It is not a noble project, it is not a cosy family. It is a nasty, bullying, intransigent behemoth.

Iflyaway · 07/10/2019 18:45

Do you think the EU will punish us as an example to other member states.

Oh, FFS, grow up.

EU has bent over backwards to accommodate the petulant child that is Brexit.

All we can see is a country at war with itself.,.. while letting the fascists take over.

The EU is not perfect. Who is, what is?! But it is a hell of a fuck lot better than what you are sleep walking into. (Not talking to Remainers here...)..

Together we are strong, divided we fall. We ARE in the 21st Century.

Good luck with your new Trade deals with USA, China, etc.

Don't even get me started on Ireland....

Helmetbymidnight · 07/10/2019 18:46

i am worried about them - well not them but what they might do. Sad

Iflyaway · 07/10/2019 18:52

It is a nasty, bullying, intransigent behemoth

Who whispered that into your ear?

Lived in EU for 40 years and shocked at the state of Britain nowadays, we have nothing like that. Teenage stabbings, country lines etc.

Was in Greece last week. Everywhere was safe where I went, solo.

Yaralie · 07/10/2019 19:14

Again and again I can't help noticing that it is always the brainwashed brexiters who confidently predict the future.

The same folk who told us we would leave on 31st March, then some other date, now say we will leave on 31st October and we will NOT remain.

I hope we do remain but do not have the blind arrogance to predict anything.

IvinghoeBeacon · 07/10/2019 19:15

If we must have rioting either way, I’d prefer rioting while we have all the food and medication we need.

Theworldisfullofgs · 07/10/2019 19:29

iflyaway austerity has a lot to answer for. And the fact that the tories now want to go on a spending spree shows it was largely unnecessary.

Gfplux · 07/10/2019 21:14

It makes me sad to write this but,
If Britain decides not to leave the EU this time, the operative words are “this time”
Just like Quebec, Catalonia, French and Spanish Basque Countrys, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily and countries effected by Pandemics like Zika or Ebola, Britain is blighted. Why would anyone wanting a foothold in Europe invest in a Britain, why would EU citizens who are Doctors or scientists bring their family to live in a Britain who could suddenly reverse a decision and stay or leave or leave and stay. Flip, flop!
Even if Britain were to stay in the EU, Brexit Blight will effect Britain for a lifetime if not longer. Who will trust Britain, the voters and its politicians ever again?

rslsys · 07/10/2019 21:51

If we remain, they are going to kick the shit out of us - just to make Holland think twice about being the next one out of the door.
