... insisted a person on radio, about Brexit.

But if delay in becoming non-members is the only way to avoid crashing out, then I'm all for the damn membership dragging on.

Plus for me Brexit isn't 'over with' until it stops feeling like Brexit is dominating every aspect of foreign policy & many domestic policies. That moment will be 5-15 yrs from now. I'm not wanting to rush the next 15 yrs of my life.

Only me? Or do others also NOT feel like they 'just want it over with' ?

Brexit isn't over when we Brexit though, it's the start of years of shit while we attempt to negotiate deals anywhere near as good as the ones we've got now. And it would appear we are fucking terrible at negotiating. All this coz some wealthy politicians and media moguls didn't want their tax avoidance cracked down in

Eleanoryellow89 · 21/09/2019 21:19

And your leaver mates think having no deal will mean it's 'over with', do they? Righty ho
I don’t know why you’ve got an attitude with me. I didn’t say I had that opinion and I can’t stop them having that opinion. I was just sharing my experiences Confused

frumpety · 21/09/2019 21:28

I blame Brexit for everything, a bit like those who have taken to blaming the EU for everything. It is very liberating having something to apportion blame to in any given situation Grin

Songsofexperience · 22/09/2019 07:09

Even Revoke will mean issues rumbling on for years.

I suspect the vast majority will not care so much. There will be outrage from the usual suspects and that's it.

SnuggyBuggy · 22/09/2019 07:14

I just don't see what good another delay is going to do when the last once achieved nothing.

I voted remain. I don't want us to crash out but it sometimes feels inevitable and I'd rather we got on with it if that's what's going to happen anyway.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 22/09/2019 07:29

I'm wondering if Revoke is on the table as the preferred option by everyone except Farage/UKIP, but someone will need to take the blame and while Johnson wants it be Europe they are not letting him get away with that. None of the parties want the fallout from making that decision, or the nightmare of another Leave result from the electorate.

BeanBag7 · 22/09/2019 07:32

I want it to be over. But to me that means cancelling the whole thing and pretending this embarrassing incident never happened (I'm quite aware this won't happen).
No deal Brexit won't "get it over with", it will just be the beginning.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 22/09/2019 07:37

If we crash out we'll have an almightly mess to sort out just to get the country functioning again, and then another existential crisis over what Britain post-Europe is. Socialist state? Tax-haven? Trumpville?

bellinisurge · 22/09/2019 08:07

I live in a strong Leave area and the "just get it over with crowd " are about 80/20 over the "wtf! Have you read Yellowhammer papers. "

Helmetbymidnight · 22/09/2019 08:12

our local newspaper had an editorial saying this. idiots.

endofthelinefinally · 22/09/2019 08:27

I still think the majority of leavers have no idea what leaving actually entails. The fallout will go on for years.
The racists and anti-immigrants are going to be really cross when we have to import lots of replacement immigrants from outside Europe to work in all the industries the European ones currently keep running.

SnuggyBuggy · 22/09/2019 09:07

It's all so divisive that either way there will be a group of pissed off people.

AlphaJura · 22/09/2019 16:05

I wish it never happened! So in that sense I want it 'over'. Sick of hearing about it in the news and hate the amount of hatred, division and uncertainty it's stirred up. It hasn't helped that no one has had any idea what is actually happening for three years. Don't want it 'over' as in just no deal. Because that will create so many problems it may never be over.
