When her FOM to Balmoral is threatened she opens her gob, when it affects the rest of us peasants to travel and work around Europe, she stays quiet.

This institution needs to go.

?

lakequeen · 19/09/2019 13:24

I agree with you but wasn't she always supposed to still be Queen of Scots even if Scotland had voted for independence?

Notthebloodymustardcushion · 19/09/2019 13:28

“This institution needs to go.”

Great! Let’s have a referendum... Confused
(Sorry, couldn’t resist! Grin)

bellinisurge · 19/09/2019 14:19

She's Queen of Scotland.

MockersthefeMANist · 19/09/2019 14:27

She's more Scottish than English.

farfallarocks · 19/09/2019 14:30

I suspect she’s a Brexiteer

Bluntness100 · 19/09/2019 14:31

Okdoke then. Hmm

bellinisurge · 19/09/2019 14:36

The hat suggests otherwise.

So the Queen will intervene when it suits her.....
Yadid · 19/09/2019 14:37

What is this thread about?

jasjas1973 · 19/09/2019 14:39

I suspect she’s a Brexiteer

Clearly and allowing her personal preferences to get in the way of her constitutional status.

Perhaps it was her idea to prorogue Parliament?

OP posts:
bellinisurge · 19/09/2019 14:45

I refer you to the hat.

Yadid · 19/09/2019 14:47

Sorry but what's the significance of the hat?

Wildorchidz · 19/09/2019 14:48

Look at the EU flag

Brefugee · 19/09/2019 14:52

OK this thread is confusing. Do you mean that when it looked as though Scotland would vote for Independence she asked them to stay but now she's saying nothing?

She was wrong to interfere in the Indyref. She would be wrong (but bloody hell i wish she would) to interfere with Brexit. But the hat and other comments, it seems, have pretty much made her position pretty clear.

Rainbowhairdontcare · 19/09/2019 14:54

Interestingly enough this article days "she didn't want to influence the indyref"

Can't really see how saying people should think carefully influenced the outcome much...

I'd be more inclined to direct my anger towards David Cameron for asking the question in the first place

Peregrina · 19/09/2019 15:18

The Royal Family are Scottish when it suits them - like when they go up to Balmoral and start parading around in kilts.

Or like when Princess Anne remarried in a Scottish Church, because the CoE very often doesn't accept divorcees.

KUGA · 19/09/2019 15:25

FFS FK THIS SHIT.

bellinisurge · 19/09/2019 15:26

She's head of state in Scotland. Like it or loathe it.

DioneTheDiabolist · 19/09/2019 15:30

Wasn't her ma Scottish?

Peregrina · 19/09/2019 15:31

Wasn't her ma Scottish?

Wasn't she born in Hertfordshire and lived in London most of the time?
Another one who pretended to be Scottish when it suited.

ALoadOfTwaddle · 19/09/2019 15:34

Wasn't she born in Hertfordshire and lived in London most of the time?

You don't have to live in Scotland to be Scottish.

ageingdisgracefully · 19/09/2019 15:47

Her birth was registered in Hitchin but it's not clear where she was actually born. it was in or near London, not Scotland.

I think her mother was English and her father was Earl of Strathmore? I'm not sure sure if that means her dad was Scottish (I don't think it does, necessarily). Glamis Castle was part of his Earldom I think.

bellinisurge · 19/09/2019 15:51

Her mum was Scottish. That was the whole thing with Diana being the first English blah blah blah for eons.
