Craziest reasons for wanting brexit

I've just been reading some of the comments attached to a bbc news article on brexit and found this gem:

I remember those days well. In 1991 I had a long distance "boyfriend" and if I was really lucky I'd get his letter in the morning post before I got the bus to school at 7.20am. If it wasn't in the first post then it would come in the second post around 10.30am.
My post has just arrived this morning but my mum lives a mile up the road and hers tends to arrive in the afternoon.

Some people will blame the EU for anything!

What's the craziest reason for brexit you've heard or read?

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in these homes when the reality hits of what brexit means. Especially the racist Leavers if/when immigration increases from non-EU countries. It will be a smack in the face that's for sure. I just hope they keep their racist views to themselves and new comers aren't aware of how unwelcome they are to some.

Apparently the Q1 growth slump was because we were stockpiling for Brexit.

In the interests of fairness, one person I know voted remain because they wanted the UK to be in Eurovision, so there was some stupidity on both sides.

Most people who were actually alive during WW2 voted to remain, IIRC.

Is immigration that much of an issue for people though really? I live in an area with quite a large Eastern European and Muslim population and can't say I've ever felt aggrieved by their presence. What is it that pisses people off so much? Is it just a case of inherent racism under the disguise of "taking all our jobs and service" (again never experienced this first hand or in fact know of anyone who has)

Because there are now 3 polish supermarkets in town - often posted on a local group for a nearby town to where I live. They're also the first to jump on any rape/burglary/assault police news bulletin to comment,
"What's his name? Bet it wasn't British..bet he was tanned..."
