I thought that if we were in a CU with the EU then we couldn't make our own trade deals with third countries.
Have I got that right and, if so, what in the name of god has this whole fiasco been for? How is that Taking Back Control?

So we'll be able to trade ok with Europe? But have fucked up our trading with China, USA and other non European countries?

In what way is this better?

' The state broadcaster' sounds like something you would watch in Russia.
I don't think the BBC are pro leave. They give each argument airtime and interview a cross section of people and politicians.
They try not to ' pick a side' but maybe im not listening to what others are.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/04/2019 17:49

They blatantly pick a side. You only have to see which politicians and audience members they have on QT to see they're not balanced. There's so much bias, in fact, that I'm surprised it's not been spotted.

I didn't notice the state broadcaster specifically mention FoM to Ms Thornberry

They did, repeatedly

As I said, I didn't notice. I'll take your word for it as I wasn't paying huge amounts of attention.

And state broadcaster as they're toeing the Tory line on Brexit.

The80sweregreat · 01/04/2019 18:07

I really don't agree about the beeb but then I listen to five live and I only dip in and out of QT. I do watch their news over Sky or ITV.
I think they were balanced before the vote at least. I don't work for them by the way!
( just pay a licence fee)

It’s the way they provide ‘balance’ that’s the problem. It’s something they were pulled up on in their science reporting, specifically MMR and climate change, but it seems to have spilled over onto other stuff.

They don’t seem to have grasped, or don’t want to grasp that presenting a minority view with equal weighting as the view shared by the majority of experts or evidence isn’t balance. Neither I allowing lies to go unchallenged in an attempt not to ‘pick a side’.

And then there’s John Humphreys...

How are the unilateral controls over FOM different to the ones we already have and don’t use? Are the EU even likely to agree with these?

If you go onto Leave SM pages & fora, they scream fury that BBC is so anti-Brexit.
