When did it become acceptable to be totally unsurprised that the PM u-turns on everything she says?

I’ve lost count of the number of u-turns TM has done.

The latest being the potential extsion to A50 after categorical stating umpteen times that we are leaving on 29th March.

The sad thing is that it doesn’t even raise an eyebrow anymore - everyone knows it’s only a matter of time.

Seriously, who is actually satisfied with the current situation?

What is the point of this epic clusterfuck?

It’s been acceptable since she became PM. It’s utterly ridiculous that the state the govenerment is in is being glossed over.

Also it's stopped being a 'thing' when the government loses a vote in the HOC.

lonelyplanetmum · 28/02/2019 05:29

Also it's stopped being a thing when our government knowingly commits the offence of obstructing our parliament in the performance of its duties ( I.e contempt).

I don't know how anyone can still keep supporting them in the polls after that - it's huge - the first time in history a UK government was found to be in contempt of parliament.

I’ve given up listening to her and stressing, I can’t stand any of them.

She's trying to deliver the undeliverable and this is the only way to do it. Talk big, soften people up for disappointment, soften people up for alternative ways to deliver the undeliverable, fail to deliver/deliver a shitstorm.

I just don’t get that either - why drag out the charade?

It is impossible so she should just say so and tell those who support it to find a way if they think it exists.

As it doesn’t - they won’t.

It wouldn't be undeliverable if it wasn't for GFA. Which leave voters forgot about and leave campaigners pretended wasn't important. And then lied about technical solutions in case anyone asked awkward questions.

Bluntness100 · 28/02/2019 07:06

I think she simply has to adjust her stance based on how events unfold. It would be ludicrous for her to doggedly hold. She needs to give Parliament the options. Because ultimately she can't do anything without them voting for it due to the requirement for the meaningful vote.

Too many MPs playing games with our future instead of coming together. The sad fact is we have a decent deal. And rhe back stop, to quote ken Clarke, is totally harmless and it's ludicrous they are now trying ro renegotiate it, to appease some game players. It really is a fiasco.
