I have been waiting for two days patiently. Can't wait anymore.
Kindly bring it back Surfer.
No matter what we discuss or don't discuss there, this discussion must keep going.

Bring us some good news about Brexit everyone...the bad news just keeps on coming. The Express are huffy about the possibility of Brexit taking even longer than 2019, so they would like job losses, staff shortages in the nhs and a mess with customs to come sooner then.

TheSultanofPingu · 30/07/2017 12:55

I've a suspicion there won't be another one.

MsHooliesCardigan · 30/07/2017 13:57

Why ever not? There's so much to celebrate after all!

GhostofFrankGrimes · 30/07/2017 19:28

Can't we just cut and paste some of the classic bullshit comments from the previous Brexit Arms threads to highlight just how ridiculous they now look?

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 30/07/2017 19:35

Can you seriously be arsed ghost

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 30/07/2017 19:35

I woukd love to go back to some comments in a few years time though Grin

GhostofFrankGrimes · 30/07/2017 20:56

This pub will be boarded up in a few years. Incidentally, does the Brexit Arms have a flat roof? Grin

surferjet · 30/07/2017 21:00

Hi Valentine2 - sorry, just seen this post.
I'm up for it if you are?
Hang on.....,Smile

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 30/07/2017 21:08

surfer

It would be boring without you

Echo chambers and all that

Peregrina · 31/07/2017 08:39

I see the Brexit Arms have reopened. No customers yet.

Valentine2 · 31/07/2017 17:30

Yes. I feel sad though. I want this discussion to happen and keep going. The last year's referendum result has shown us how big a divide we are facing as a society. Divided people can't survive.
No matter how hard it sounds, we need to keep asking questions and keep chellenging each other.

InfiniteSheldon · 31/07/2017 17:39

Personally I'm happy with how it's going no collapse of society or financial catastrophe, a nice slow plod to freedom while we sort out the details. I'm not interested in debating on here anymore though it's boring and pointless.

Peregrina · 31/07/2017 20:00

One of the biggest changes since WW2, with a Government which more than a year one, doesn't seem to know what it wants, and it's boring and pointless?

Well pointless I could perhaps agree with, because the Government couldn't care less about what ordinary people want.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 31/07/2017 20:26

no collapse of society or financial catastrophe

just an increase in race hate crimes and the pound bombing.

I'm not interested in debating on here anymore though it's boring and pointless.

so Brexit was a waste of time really wasn't it?

Valentine2 · 31/07/2017 21:39

InfiniteSheldon
Sorry but

  1. We haven't left yet.
  1. The food prices are already on the steep rise. £ has lost an immense amount of value, wiping 100s of billions off of Uk economy (that's a very conservative estimate).
  1. NHS is in dire need of workers, we are terribly short of skilled workforce in a lot of STEM fields in a world where knowledge-based economies are going to be the "in" thing. (British jobs for British workers but I heard somebody brutally joke yesterday that an Indian/Pakistani doctor earning good money here isn't taking the jobs of A-level fresh graduates by any calculations!)
  1. There is no guarantee for anything from the Tory manifesto happening any time soon. Regarding Brexit or any other stuff they have been doing the million U-turns on.

So please tell me that the light you see at the end of this tunnel is not that of a train? I think it is.

Growth forecasts down, sterling down, business investment down, wage growth down, inflation up.

I feel a Half Man Half Biscuit moment coming on.

Bearbehind · 21/08/2017 07:34

In the absence of another thread I thought I'd bring this one back to life.

I'm dying to see mummys evidence for the man who got sacked after 50 years of mowing a loan because he wasn't qualified to do it.

I'm also astounded at the naivety in thinking seasonal fruit and veg picking can be done by a few kids as and when they want the work rather than when, er, the produce is ready to be picked.

It really does beggar belief that this kind of shit even enters people's minds let alone that they genuinely believe it's a viable option.

twofingerstoEverything · 21/08/2017 08:02

Don't forget the untrained 'nurslings', Bear, wiping bums and spoon-feeding patients in hospitals so that 'real nurses' don't have to do these things even though they don't, anyway
Or that these 'nurslings' will go through some kind of suck-it-and-see process to see if they want to become/are capable of becoming 'real nurses' without any kind of real training. They just follow matron around, or something, learning by osmosis.

surferjet · 21/08/2017 08:14

Morning all.
I won't be starting another Brexit Arms thread, it just encourages that psycho PBP to keep coming back.
If anyone else wants to start one then go for it - or just keep chatting on this one.

Have a great day!

Peregrina · 21/08/2017 08:21

No, don't turn this into a Brexit Arms thread - I have never frequented that establishment, but have been here before. So I don't want to find that my nice little cafe, as it were, has turned into a pub.

Carolinesbeanies · 21/08/2017 08:21

I agree with you surfer. So yep, if a remainer wants to set up a false flag thread and crack on, so be it. Plenty of false flag posts. Clearly bears getting desperate.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 21/08/2017 08:50

Should be grateful us remainers got business going in the arms after the regulars abandoned. Really enjoy talking up the economy Grin

RandomlyGenerated · 21/08/2017 08:51

Bear the gardener story is from the Torygraph - seems he was the old family gardener that was replaced by the National Trust's own gardening team when it took the management of the property over from the previous owners in 2009. It is a non-story.

Carolinesbeanies · 21/08/2017 08:56

Come on guys, start the thread. Make the statement youre dying to make. Where are you going to hunt otherwise?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 21/08/2017 09:00

I thought we were working on the basis of natural selection?
