Continue to be disgusted by the BBC

Just watched The BIg Questions on BBC 1 and there were about 4 Brexit voters in the audience. Hardly balanced! When the young man, who was really doing well and putting across excellent points about Brexit had finished, it was clear that the BBC had chosen the majority of the audience as remainers. Absolutely disgraceful! I'm sick of the BBC, which is a pile of bollocks. I never use their service. It should go public, which would save everyone the license fee. Rant over.

I keep telling myself that all brexit voters aren't stupid, then I watch Question Time and I'm proved otherwise. Where do they find them all? I swear they must test the IQ of every brexit voter that goes on just to make sure the intelligent ones don't slip through.

I have just listened to the relevant part of the BBC4 programme. I am not impressed by their reasons for lack of coverage,or their pretence of being balanced. Yes Carswell resigning was news, but was it more news than 100,000 people marching? Should his have been the lead story, as it was? IMO most definitely not. This week's EDL march, with a couple of hundred and with arrests to boot - oh yes, that had to be covered, when the most it deserved was a one line mention.

Spitting Image was ITV.

Peregrina · 02/04/2017 21:42

Ah but 'They' should still bring it back. University Challenge used to be ITV (Granada) but now is BBC2.

As a general rule every political side thinks the BBC is biased against them.

TeacupDrama · 02/04/2017 22:23

While the SNP has 55 MP'S and UKip only 1 it is also true that UKip has far more votes percentage wise than the SNP,
I don't think the BBC is as impartial as it once was, they definitely give some people a harder time than others, but they are both left and right wing. to my mind it is just a tiny tiny bit left of centre it doesn't like Cameron or Corbyn l think it was genuinely flummoxed by brexit, they are not even remotely trying to be impartial regarding Donald trump not that l mind that,

I think it is harder to spot bias when the bias is towards the way you think personally, l am not just meaning the BBC but anything at all: we all tend to think the views we agree with are more balanced in presentation than those we oppose

And I continue to be disgusted at the disproportionate amount of airtime given to Farage and the UKIP loons. So we're even.

"Bogqueen the SNP is not a national political party."

Well, in the same respect, Labour aren't either. They don't stand in Northern Ireland. And the Conservatives only field on or two in NI(who don't get elected), so they wouldn't really be a national party either.

The Greens are probably a national party, if standing in all four parts is the criterion.

prettybird · 06/04/2017 15:55

Actually the Scottish Greens are registered as a party in their own right.

but despite its protestations, Scottish Labour is not a recognised party
