What will it really mean when the UK leaves the EU?

• No more adherence to EU legislation
• UK controls their own borders (this is interesting and has huge implications for Northern Ireland and Rep of Ireland which up to very recently has not been a priority for the UK Government)
• No more paying into the EU

• No more taking out of the EU (farming subsidies would be gone)
• Freedom of movement of EU citizens (the other EU member countries could require UK citizens to apply for and need a visa to travel to their country and the UK could require a visa to visit England, Scotland, Wales and NI - how workable is that really???)

Anything else?? (the above is what I've thought off the top of my head but I'm sure there is considerably more that will take place).

The no more taking out of the EU means that WM will be responsible for subsidising regions that need it, rather than them applying to the EU. I suspect that may not happen.

The short answer to your question is that we will be absolutely fucked, more so as time goes on.

I wish there was another referendum on in or out of the EU rather than the one being suggested today about Scottish independence.

Considering a lot of UK citizens were sold a pack of lies written on the side of a bus about how much money the NHS would get if the UK left the EU, I think there may be a different result this time as people are just a bit wiser to what is going on.

What brexit means depends on what sort of brexit you get ;)

Whatever May would like you to believe, it is not at all certain that she is aiming for a hard brexit. Notably, the budget included precisely no near-term funding for the infrastructure spending that will be required, eg at ports.

For the average person a soft brexit would not look very different to remaining.

Its going to be a shambles which hits the very areas that voted for it when they lose the eu subsidies

A big drop in the inward investment on which the UK currently relies as companies look to countries within the single market for a European base. Corresponding drop in tax revenue and jobs.

It's going to means a collapse in house prices as no one who wants to can afford to buy here, and no one who can afford to buy here will want to... especially for the older generation who stubbornly walked their children and grandchildren (the majority of under 50s voted to remain) into this mess.

Hopefully it also means a means-tested state pension as at the moment they're also expecting their children and grandchildren to pay for it all too.
