Did you know Gove said this?

Apparently during the referendum campaign Michael Gove claimed that people who supported the EU were the same as nazi sympathizers during the war. Shock

The first I knew about this was watching Channel4 news last night.

No, you are comparing apples and oranges. That is not how discussions progress.

OurBlanche · 12/09/2016 17:28

It's called extrapolation... another behaviour that is fraught with dangers Smile

Kaija, I suspect we will never agree. Can we leave it at I think you have a narrow viewpoint and are wrong in some of your assumptions and you think I am a raving lunatic who has no idea what she is talking about?

Yes there are considerable dangers with that particular extrapolation.

Certainly happy to leave it there.

However, this kind of thing matters because as soon as people start pointing to solid statistical evidence and saying "oh well statistics, can't trust it, no better than anecdote" etc, you get into really murky waters where anybody can say anything and claim it's as valid as anything else. It's an ugly and dangerous feature of the post-factual politics we sadly seem to be neck-deep in now.
