Is anyone feeling more confident after today's shenanigans? not sure I am

As the thread title says, are you?
I think I have less confidence (if that's possible ) now than I did yesterday.
How is it possible that an MP who has been at the centre of Camerons government now swoops in with promises of social and economic justice is given a coronation and a right to rule?
Surely if Theresa May really believed in these things she should have used her voice to speak out when the poorest in our society were being hit hardest as a result of austerity measures introduced by the government for whom she served. Why does she now get to rewrite the rule books and claim to seek to correct these mistakes ?
Have we all been led a merry dance? It kind of feels that way.
We now have a 'remain ' supporter replacing a 'remain ' PM , the same PM who said he couldn't lead a Brexit.
Meanwhile the final main high profile protagonist for the Brexit campaign quits her campaign.
I'm left feeling very uneasy as to what we are supposed to feel reassured by.
and let's not get into the primary challenger for the leader of the opposition, Angela Eagle. The woman who said in her speech that her party was 'facing dark days'. This would be the same person spear heading the coup against her leader who, arguably, is the architect of the parties current crisis.
just for reference I am a remain supporter who is desperate for a politician of any ilk to show some commitment and some confidence that they know a way out of this shiny shite of a mess. Don't care what party they might come from. They could come from outer feckin space as long as they have a plan!!!

I'm feeling worse today than yesterday with the appointment of Andrea Leadsom as Environment Secretary, and the effective abolition of the Climate Change dept.
I've been hunting for a thread this evening as there was a post on it this morning where the poster said she felt optimistic about the future for the environment because politicians had to look after it or they'd be voted out. I can't find the thread but I'd love to know if she still feels as confident, knowing that the first question our environment secretary asked herself is 'Is Climate Change Real?'
So TM has got rid of the department which dealt with the single biggest threat that faces us and our kids, and put in place to oversee policies that affect it someone who wasn't even sure it existed, and who has consistently voted against measures designed to combat it.

I'm numb and horrified. Was 'not taking any steps to combat climate change' in the Conservative manifesto? If not, then is this really what people were voting for and how does this represent increased power and democracy?

You have written all that I could think of. The minister for BREXIT , until a few months ago, apparently had this belief that you can negotiate one on one trade deals with EU countries. I didn't save the link to the article but googling it will make it appear using his name.
Then there is Boris. I still havent forgotten his face the day after. And that article he wrote where he expressed his negotiation ideas with EU and the EU public immediately told him off. The same day to be exact. So, yes I do feel shaky today. I don't think they actually know what they are doing.

BUT it is my suspicion that Theresa May is going to come out fine from this whatever happens. She is Remain and has actually given all BREXIT related posts to Leave campaigners. Now if they fuck up, she can throw them out and shrug her shoulders to the Leave side: ah see I did my best and have you the ones who actually had faith in it.

Bank of England says they are likely to decrease the rate next month.
Property market is slowing down while £ is this low.
Theresa needs to stop foreign property investors actively somehow before they swoop in big time.
I am going to use this as my test for her. If she manages to manage the property market situation that's looks like coming, she might manage the Brexiteers she has appointed. Not the BREXIT itself but yeah the Brexiteers at least (and then we won't leave hopefully).
I should stop using glue.

Link for Valentine.

I'm glad that TM has stabilised some things (for now).
