Media bias

I'm not naive enough to assume this never happens but I'm sitting here, watching BBC News at 10 and am very surprised at what I've just seen.

Nothing but positive comments about May. On the flip side, nothing but negative about Corbyn. Practically mocking him.

And no mention whatsoever of the Chilcot Report.

I'll admit that I haven't followed UK politics that closely over the years (based overseas) but I'm finding it all fascinating (and flippin' scary) and wondering why I was so convinced the BBC was impartial.

Am I missing something?

Harry, Joysmum and I felt it confirmed each of our positions, not that it was biased against it - but yet that could mean it's more balanced perhaps than I'm giving it credit for :)

I was gobsmacked last Friday watching the BBCs broadcast of the results. It was a shambles and I think really, really didn't help the general mood of the country (as I know lots of people turn on the BBC for 'times like these')

I switched to France 24 and I was just cringing at the headlines they held up from a cross section of newspapers (most of which declared a crisis etc).

To me, yes, it's awful and a shock etc, but by god you don't do yourself any favours by publicising the complete carnage. Stick a fake smile on, pretend you know what you're doing, and try and instill some flipping confidence in the country to get the best flipping deal we can.

Joysmum that's interesting that you felt it biased towards leave as a leave voter, and I saw it more towards remain as a remain voter

I worded myself poorly, I'm sorry Blush

I'm a leave voter so I noticed the significant bias towards remain in their mainstream output.

However that wasn't so much the case in their specialist output that you'd need to search for if you've an interest in economics and business.
