My surviving parent is on a low income and thanks to living locally (and not 'luxuriating' with a generous pension ) provides a lot of childcare hours so I can work in my low-paid job.

As a committed grandparent, the focus is very much on the future and what's good for the next generation.

Should parents of small children also get 1.5 votes? There's an argument for that, surely, since we're usually doing our damnedest to make sure our children have a future.

And, hey, what about 0.75 votes for child-free women past the menopause but not, y'know, like, old-old! Should we be suspicious of their investment in the future?
