If the question on the ballot had been REMAIN or LEAVE to join the EEA what would you have chosen?

Ok Rorty. You're not a racist.

The wording on the referendum was - do you want to leave the EU.

The question now being posed by those looking for a solution is, would being a part of an EEA be acceptable? It's not the EU, therefore complies with the wording of the referendum.

Help us remainers out here, we're trying to work out what it is you Do want. Norwegian model?

Fuck off with the haranguing.
Immigration appears to have played a large part in many leavers" decision making. But not all.
And it clearly played a significant role in some remainers thinking too, as so much of the criticism of the leave vote is that it won't "improve" immigration but make it "worse" Hmm

For me, immigration to the Uk of eu residents had no part in my decision to vote to leave. None whatsoever. That is not to say I'm not aware that that it exists and impacts on the uk, just that it wasn't what I was personally troubled with.
I am troubled by the fact that much of Europe is becoming increasingly right wing to the point of fascism. I don't want to be a part of that.

Hamishandthefoxes · 28/06/2016 20:07

I think it will be one of the two questions on the next referendum or the Conservative manifesto for the GE.

Q1) Do you want to stay in the EU on the current terms
Q2) Do you want to be like Norway

Unless UKIP have am outright majority I'm not going to bet on a Q3.

Hamishandthefoxes · 28/06/2016 20:10

I think if we go, Europe will be a lot less rightwing. We're substantially to the right of much of Europe and going ever more so - especially now.

Lottielo · 28/06/2016 20:11

All of the leave voters I know said that they did not expect immigration to decrease and accepted that freedom of movement of people was likely to be a condition of access to the single market. They all voted for other reasons. However, I do believe that there are an awful lot of Brexit supporters who believed that immigration would decline significantly.

Fuck off with the haranguing.

Nice. This is a discussion thread. Nobody has been nasty. Why the agression?

Seriously, no thanks. I'm done and am going to hide the EU referendum forum. I'm sick of the abuse and while I usually don't allow negative things to dwell for too long in my brain, since Friday I've had more than enough.

Enjoy yourselves.

Helpful.

Any other leave voters want to say what they think about an EEA type solution?
