Since parliament is currently fucked, it got me thinking...

I miss Nick Clegg. He seemed thoroughly decent, was as europhile as they come, spoke a million languages fluently and was easy on the eye.

Also was watching Martyn Lewis trying to calm us down on the news yesterday and had a lightbulb moment.

So, for me:

PM: Nick Clegg
Chancellor of the Exchequer: Martyn Lewis

Any thoughts? Who's yours?

PM: Tim Farron
Home Secretary: Caroline Lucas
Foreign Secretary: Michael Headline
Chancellor: Lisa Nandy

Heseltine not Headline!

Nick Clegg predicted with great accuracy exactly what would happen in the wake of a Leave vote.

So yes, Clegg for PM but I'd have Cable as Chancellor (or as chief negotiator if we have to restrict to serving MPs)

Not sure about all the other positions but I'd be inclined to assign Boris to Scotland and Gove to NI. And maybe make Corby the International Development Secretary and send him on a very long fact-finding mission (obviously he'd want to travel by bike not jet).

For Health, I would like either my MP, Rachael Maskell, or a job share with Drs Chris and Xand.

No restriction to serving MP's or even politicians...

Ooh yes Drs Chris and Xand

I know Nick Clegg in real life. Socially, but not quite a friend. He is a really good guy, and unfortunately this is precisely why he was ineffectual in a leadership role: he likes to be liked.

I voted very reluctantly for Sadiq Khan, but already he has really impressed me. I'd be happy for him to become PM.

If it doesn't need to be a politician then the choice for PM is easy: Charlie Mayfield of John Lewis.
