Please can someone charismatic and truly Left wing start a new political party?

Please? Anyone? Something modern and relevant.

I was watching something on TV last night where they were hypothesising that a coalition between the moderates on the left and the moderates on the right might win popular support in the current vacuum.

I thought the lib dems were the moderate middles?

They're called the Liberal Democrats...

They were very limited in what they could achieve in the last government but at least they blocked the worst Tory excesses.

Was thinking exactly the same! Would love to......our political class have lost touch with the electorate

First thing- we need politicians who look like, sound like and crucially understand the electorate. We need the diversity found in the population replicated in our politicians. We need people who genuinely understand why sections of society are angry and not engaging with politics. We need children to be taught about the political system, how it works and more importantly how they can change things through a democratic process.

Most importantly, we need to stop politics being so Westminster centric- hold cabinet meetings elsewhere, concentrate on other areas of the country, get out there and talking to people outside central London.

A mini manifesto if you will

The LD asked at PMQT yesterday about a possible General Election, they were duly told not until the Tories agree to one, you signed this off during the coalition.

So it seems very likely that we will be stuck with Boris for a long time, wether we like it or not.
