UK still save to visit?

I've read some worrying news about overt racism and violence to foreigners. I'm Dutch and I've booked a holiday in the UK for august. One week in Cornwall, one week in the Cotswolds.

Is this still going to be safe? I'm not easily scared but I'm also not looking forward to explaining self defence at a police station.

It's fine. Come to Cornwall - we need your money now! Just over half of us a total bellends, but the rest are lovely. What part of Cornwall are you coming to? I might be able to recommend you some things to do :)

Of course it s safe! Come on over.

My DD2 is over in Amsterdam at the moment with her friends on a post school leaving holiday. She seems to be enjoying herself from the very, very few messages she has sent!

Going to the very far end this year, about 20 miles from penzance I think.

It is safe. There have allegedly been a few isolated incidents the press have seized upon to sell papers.

Ale can't be any worse than Somerset farmhouse cider. :)
