Will this change? Would have to be registered in the uk instead of Ireland?

It would still be up to the UK government to pursue them but it could become much easier e.g. the EU allows the free movement of money so companies can move their money around very easily to avoid tax, if the UK has full control over tax & money it will be far easier to pursue them

Many companies are registered offshore or in Switzerland for tax purposes , so expect movement there rather than to UK

That's interesting. So it's not about where the company is but how each government collects the taxes within the European Union.
I naively thought they would have to have uk headquarters in order to do business within and follow the countries rules and regulation.

I imagine that it's hard to collect evidence, and hard to prove wrongdoing, since Google and other companies no doubt emoloy very clever people to help them keep just on the right side of the law and to minimise the chance of tax bodies finding chinks in their armour. But all credit to the French for having a go.

I don't think this is an EU issue, unless Bermuda joined the EU when I wasn't watching.
