Brexit

But I didn't know! Why didn't anybody tell me?

ARGH!!!

So many Brexiters have been saying this since Friday. Mostly about freedom of movement, but also about the immediate economic consequences.

How could they not have known? It was public! Was every newspaper, every commentator, every pundit, and everyone speaking in support of Remaining just part of some conspiracy? Had these Bregreters no power of independent thought?

So fed up. Sad

I wish people would stop complaining about the quantity of threads, last time I checked people could start a thread about anything they liked.

What has happened in our country is seismic, and there is no plan.

louisagradgrind · 26/06/2016 13:00

You are totally wrong: that is not happening.

Maybe you are a little confused: there is backtracking but it is coming, very strongly, from those who Remainers who threatened catastrophe but who are now sharply stepping away from that.

May I suggest you listen to Mark Carney's two speeches: the before and after vote ones. Then please bring up today's Andrew Marr show to listen to more of the same.

It may help to stop your hysterics if you engage your brain.

MrsJayy · 26/06/2016 13:01

Yes you are right they can start anythread they want but maybe people thought the op thread was about something else and tbh the op isntsaying anything different or new they just wanted their say and be heard which is fair enough

99GBPChargeToUseMyPostsJournos · 26/06/2016 13:04

To people that say they haven;t heard anyone say that, read the op here:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/eu_referendum_2016_/2670430-To-be-furious-if-this-is-true-the-freedom-of-movement

And bear in mind that there will be many more people that will not admit in public that they were ignorant of these facts when voting.

WorraLiberty · 26/06/2016 13:08

Well I'm glad people are complaining about repetitive threads, because hopefully people will start to take note.

Particularly when they know there is a referendum topic, and also when they know they're not saying anything original.

louisagradgrind · 26/06/2016 13:10

Call me cynical but the views on that thread could have been written by those who voted to remain. After all, it is anonymous.

Odd how this hand wringng isn't, for the most part, heard a lot in reality but there is lots of it on a anonymous message site.

Far better, I feel, to listen to my earlier examples, as they have a face and a name.
