We were supposed to be getting our heating and bathroom fixed next month. Might just do the heating and put up with the leaky bathroom. Both self employed and am terrified. Have a baby due in Jan and don't think we can justify getting the bathroom done when we don't know how much work we are going to get in the coming 12 months

Will be seriously considering moving to Scotland, or maybe further afield. Don't feel safe here.

sharksinthegrass · 24/06/2016 05:12

Also self employed so fucked...

Blinkowl that you feel that way makes me very angry.

cookiefiend · 24/06/2016 05:12

We bought a house last year so new mortgage and quite expensive for us. We won't go on holiday and will need to avoid doing the work in the house. I will need to ask my employers if I can go back for more hours to try and cover whatever interest rates increase to. Bricking it.

I will vote for independence now- hope sturgeon gets another referendum. Even if the EU won't let us stay at least we might have some hope of keeping the NHS, human rights and generally a more tolerant society.

cookiefiend · 24/06/2016 05:15

Blink owl- come join us! I am sorry, it must be even more terrifying for people down south. At least here it feels like we have sone way out...

Figgygal · 24/06/2016 05:16

Yup supposed to be buying a house imminently were meant to exchange today but been delayed due to a survey issue......how can we if this happens the house is likely now on negative equity. Have already spent a fortune and we have people lined up to move into ours .,....Im 6 months pregnant been up since 4 and feel utterly utterly fucked

Catinthecorner · 24/06/2016 05:16

DoubleCarrick · 24/06/2016 05:20

figgy maybe the fact that you haven't exchanged is a blessing in disguise. You might be able to pick up a bargain when the economy fucks up Sad

Going to overpay like crazy on the mortgage now so when interest rates rise we won't have so much capital and we will be use to paying a higher mortgage. I'm going to bank tomorrow to sort this out. Planning on holding into my job as long as possible by dh might have to reconsider his career break as I don't want to be some earner

Badders123 · 24/06/2016 05:35

Stop spending Sad
Start saving
Hope dh doesn't lose his job

ermmm · 24/06/2016 05:40

Dh is gonna have to say bye to a very hard worn work force - that will not be filled by those that say 'British jobs for British' as is too beneath them( whilst they are on the dole😤).

Savings have been paying pittance but now going to get ready for the mtge hike and price rises,

ermmm · 24/06/2016 05:40

*hard working workforce

wibblywobbler · 24/06/2016 05:52

figgy Flowers

neverknowinglywrong · 24/06/2016 05:54

So why will houses now go into negative equity?

Badders123 · 24/06/2016 05:56

High rates of IO mortgages
Higher interest rates = NE
Will be listening to mark Carney later!

Chalalala · 24/06/2016 06:47

I was planning on getting British citizenship in the event of a Leave vote.

But right now I really don't want to.
