recycling old leather boots with broken zips?

I have two pairs of Duo knee high leather boots which are lovely but the zip has broken on both. As with many things in our house, they have been sitting around waiting to be fixed, but we are moving out soon and really need to declutter. I don't know what to do with them - I doubt charity shops would be able to sell them but really don't want to just put them in landfill. Any ideas?

Get a quote for new zips,if you can afford to get them fixed do it and get a few more years out of them - perhaps do it and ebay them?

Our local clothes recycling bank accepts shoes. Might be worth a look at yours. They usually have them listed in the "We Accept" list on the side of the Clothes Bin

Take out the zips and fit eyelets and tie up with criss cross leather laces?
