Recycled or the weird besuited toddler who replants 3x as many trees as he cuts down?

Loo paper that is. I'm suffering from ethical confusion.

personally recycled. Not sure what types of tree the weird suit boy plants, but often replanting programmes cause even more damage as they replant the wrong types of tree. Different types of tree can 'hold on' to water on their leaves (or vise versa) and damage the ecosystem.

I buy recycled because I think it is important to support the market for recycled stuff.

Absolutely recycled - no question. Also try to find some which is unbleached, if possible.

Recycled unbleached.

Or old copies of Jeffrey Archer books...

Santa Not sure I'd want to wipe my bum on something that trashy though.

The thing is you see that that particular brand carries the FSC council logo, which is a very hard kitemark to obtain, so I am still wondering whether replanting 3x as many trees under the fsc's eye mightn't be better overall than recycled. More trees can only be good, surely. Although I suspect that the trees replanted are pretty certain to be conifers to be used for more loo paper in 30 years' time, we surely can't need 3x more loo paper even in 30 years?

Don't mind me, I'm just thinking out loud. Recycled is still better ethically, I'm sure.
