Where to buy a cheap compost bin?

2 questions actually - is it possible to buy a compost bin for less than 30 pounds?

And can I compost on a patio? We have lots of food scraps (veg peelings, tea bags etc) as well as sticks and leaves and stuff that blow onto the patio.

You should check with your local council as often they can supply at a reduced cost. Personally I wouldn't want a compost bin on my patio, they are better on soil.

Thanks Mollie. I checked with my council and they say to buy one at a DIY store so they were no help.

If I had a proper garden, I would compost on soil, like I have in the past but I currently live in a flat with a patio and nothing more. I just hate throwing out stuff that can be composted and am sure there must be a way.

You can compost on a patio if that is all you have, better than nothing.
