very tempted to respond 'shove it up your fanny!' but that probably wouldn't be all that helpful!

chop the stem slightly longer than you think you need to - 5mm - you can always trim if it feels weird. always best to put in in wet, twist it when it's in to make sure it 'touches the sides' don't forget when you are streilisng it on a pan on the hob, because it will melt.

Keep trying, I'm sure you'll get there. I found I had to cut the stem really short.

If you don't want to heat sterilise, you can use Milton cold.

i have cut the whole of my stem off...

agree insert while wet, then twist it while inside you.

there is a definite knack to it which is hard to describe.. have had mine for nearly 3 years now and i love it!

i sterilise with milton too
