What to do with a glut of jiffy bags?

Hello,

Am probably exposing myself as a naughty consumer who buys too much stuff online (it's also due to dd's grandmothers regularly sending her packages), but I have a cupboard bursting with jiffy bags/padded envelopes and don't know how best to get rid of them. Of course, I always re-use an old one whenever I need one, but I think I have more than I'll ever need and I'm trying to de-clutter and make more space.

They're not recyclable: is there a charity that can use them? Any other ingenious ideas? ...no I'm NOT going to use them in a craft project....

Sell some stuff on eBay and use them as packaging? That's what I do with all my packaging

crokky · 11/04/2009 17:16

or give them to someone who you know does a lot of eBaying?

freecycle

Send them to the Mumsnetters who do the monthly book swap thing!

Janeite.. I have hundreds too...- you want?
I posted to you today btw...

Ooh thank you - went to the library today but nothing appealed much, so am in need of a good book. Got a lovely card-making book though, so am planning on a bit of craftiness whilst on holiday.

Don't need jiffy bags, thanks - was being daft. I save the Amazon ones and re-use.

I wonder if any local charities could make use of jiffy bags? I think friends of The Earth or somesuch sell labels for re-using envelopes/bags etc.

sounds good... was your trip good yesterday?

janeite · 11/04/2009 17:47

Ugh - didn't get there as all of the trains were cancelled. Going to try again next week!

Lincoln was lovely on Weds though.

Gosh, 9 posts on Easter Saturday, and such a boring question! But I see some of it was a completely different conversation, but fire away, keeps me in active convos!

Was wondering if anyone on freecycle might want..could try that.

Possibly ask on the Ebay thread if anyone could use them...

mrsbabookaloo · 14/04/2009 14:37

Thanks for these ideas, have managed to palm them off on neighbours.
