not sure where to put this message really but i guess it's a question of ethics???...
I am wholly sick of going to the shop with my 2 little girls and seeing tonnes of images of naked women (the sport/star/fhm etc etc)

i think it's soooooo degrading and sooo unhealthy for kids to see this normalization of porn......it makes me bloody mad and am going to complain to my local sainsburys and newsagaents.

anyone else feel the same or am i mad?????

I fell the same. TBH I would feel the same even if I didn't have a child.

It's the normalization of porn that I take exception to - the shots of Jennifer Ellison or a woman from Hollyoaks with prety much everything out on the cover of Zoo, Nuts etc.

What can you do? YOu just get told you aren't getting the joke or that its all silly harmless fun and you have no sense of humour.

I couldn't agree more. I think this stuff should be top shelf only, if that. It isn't suitable for a mixed audience.

there is a campaign going at
object.org.uk worth a look if you feel strongly

i am going to plaster my town with their anti-sexualisation posters and write to my mp.

i'm sure there'll be bags of people saying i'm alesbian with no sense of humour but hey!

anyone else annoyed by this or taking any action??????

YANBU, years ago when our corner shop started stocking magazines, I complained to them (I used to go in at least once a day with dcs) they said their contract with wholesalers obliged them to stock these mags, nothing they could do etc (don't think I believe that really)
anyway when I discussed it with other mothers using the shop, was dismayed to find they were not that concerned, partly on the grounds that 'real porn is MUCH worse, this is just harmless'
so lost that one.

I'm getting more uncomfortable with it too. I'll have a look at that website.

A lot of corner shops can only survive economically on the back of income from those rude mags. Sad fact of life.

It's tits-out women in the daily newspapers that shocks me.

DD: (very loudly) Look it's a lady and her boobies.

Me: Yes dd

DD: But where is her baby? She needs her baby to give it it's booby milk

there's a slim margin between porn and art but the way photos are taken will show the intention of the picture taker. Sometimes, people say it's art but one cannot appreciate it except salivate on the oooopps parts. Besides the mind creates the malice while the eyes enjoy!
