So we are nearly half way through Fairtrade Fortnight. I live in a "Fairtrade Town" and go to a "Fairtrade Church".
With that in mind, I went looking for some nice big displays of Fairtrade food in our local supermarkets, to put together some goodies for the ladies from church who meet up for coffee every Friday.
What a complete washout. No displays, no promotional materials, nothing to draw people's attention at all. Tesco have some miniscule "proud to be supporting Fairtrade Fortnight" cards on their shelves, but they can't be all that proud because there are hardly any products next to them.
A couple of years ago I did a similar exercise and there was loads of promotional stuff. Have the supermarkets lost interest? Is it the credit crunch?
Cheer me up - tell me that something more interesting is happening where you live!
