An alternative to bleach?

My cleaner insists on bleach (see me on the AIBU board!) and I hate it. I'm a bit chicken on challenging her...is there any alternative that comes all packaged up, like Ecover bleach or something?
Please don't say vinegar. I have begged, cajoled, grovelled with her to quit putting the recycling in the wheelie bin. I've told her to leave it, I will deal with it; nothing doing. If I haven't raced to the recycling bin with my papers and jars before she gets there, I have to go fishing in my wheelie bin. It stinks. (Probably needs bleach! )

oh god i would have to get rid of cleaner. not because i am opposed to it but because the smell makes me want to hurl, i really hate it.

if you provide the cleaning stuff then can you jus tnot have it in the house???

doh. hit post too early by accident. You could make up a solution of it so that its there and she cant complain its too much hassle.

Ecover do laundry bleach and toilet cleaner. As far as I can remember, the reviews on the latter arent great.

This is a good site - and its on quidco too, as far as I can remember.

Thisisyesterday that's my plan, actually. But I feel I need to offer an alternative if that doesn't work out. I've cunningly switched to certain green brands with most things; the Method floor cleaner has been a great hit and she asked me to get some for her! But the bleach... I've lied, I've done all sorts, but still she insists. I also hate the smell of it and it depresses me when I get in and I can smell it.

I don't even know exactly what she uses it for!

I've seen the laundry bleach; what is it?

i'd love to find a bleach alternative too. dh is obsessed and doesn't think a floor is clean unless it has been bleached.

he doesn't believe me about hot water and soap but i have managed to get him using ecover surface cleaner. i bought the undiluted one so he can use it 'extra strong'.

fishie you have a DH who CLEANS FLOORS?!
Did you train him up?
