I'd love to have my house (Victorian, N London, mid-terrace) checked out for potential ecological improvements. Certainly some of the windows could be glazed better, etc. is there someone reliable that someone can recommend from experience to help out with this. We have sash windows etc - plus some really dodgy replacement windows at the back of the house.

it is hard to know what to do...

thanks

Your local council are probably working with the Energy Savings Trust on free assessments, they are going round the country at the moment but you can get in touch with them for a free assessment and they can also give you details of people who can do work to resolve it (sometimes with free grants to improve your home!)

Ah delighted to have helped me dear. They were, I have to say, pretty clueless when I called them to ask them about the thermal insulation requirements in 15th century thatched cottages like mine, but hey, you can't know everything I guess
