Caterpillers - other than flick them off what can I do?

Help they are devouring my cabbages and broccoli..

pick them off and put them in a jar and release them into the wild (where they will die of starvation). Or put on rubber gloves and squash them for a quick death. If you do it regularly you will only have to do the very little ones which are much easier than the big fat ones.

Nothing eats cabbage white butterfly caterpillers, apparetnly they taste disgusting (although how you would know I shudder to think).

ok cheers I hate flicking them off they are getting very fat and make me cringe..
